In a Twitter post on Thursday, Trillanes accused the actor of giving his support to President Rodrigo Duterte whom he called "cr4zy", saying that Robin only adds to the problems of the country as he supported Duterte.
Trillanes wrote,
“Sbi ni Robin, mgtrabaho nlng dw at wg na mgreklamo. Ano? #1 na tyo sa pnkmraming c0vid cases sa SE Asia, hbang prang nglalaro lng si duterte at di alam ang gngawa. Bsta, isa ka sa salarin kung bkt nging presidente yang siraulong yan. Mlaking perwisyo ang dinulot nyo sa Pilipinas.”

As a response, Robin made a lengthy post on his social media account, clarifying that he didn't force the people to focus on working. Robin said he only wanted the people to join as an army reservist instead of complaining about the current state of the country.
The actor then reminded Trillanes that he is the one who began doing a lot of problems in the country when he joined the Coup d'etat against the government in 2003 and 2007.

Robin said,
“Mr Trillanes, unang una wala akong sinabi na magtrabaho. pangalawa schoolmate sa Siena College Kung sa pagiging perwisyo sa Inangbayan ay nagunguna ka sa dami ng kudeta mo na lahat ay surrenderie ka naapektuhan lang ang economia ng Pilipinas kaya talo na naman ang taongbayan pero ikaw ay panalo dahil naging senador ka parang nagoyo mo lang ang ibang mga Pnoy sa personal mong agenda katulad ng ginagawa mo pa rin ngayon.”
Robin said he doesn't have any plans to run in any position in the government in 2020 so Trillanes should stop dragging him in politics. The action star added that Trillanes was only mad with Duterte because he rejected him to be his vice-presidential candidate in the last presidential elections in 2016.

He said,
“Pakiusap wag mo ako idamay sa away ninyo sa Pulitika dahil hindi ako pulitiko at lalong hindi ako kandidato sa 2022 na katulad mo. I call myself revolutionary because i do not join governments i fight governments and that is what president duterte and this government is doing fighting the system of government and its oligarchs that was founded by the Magdalos of Emilio Aguinaldo.”
Robin added,
“Talagang outside the normal ang ginagawa ni PRRD dahil talagang kumakasa siya sa lahat ng pinaglilingkuran mo. Hindi ka lang napagbigyan ni mayor prrd na maging vice president candidate niya nag huramentado kana at parang kang bata na nagngangangawa. Puro batikos puro ka reklamo puro ka hamon dito hamon don napalaban kana ba talaga?”

The actor further went on that Trillanes should stop crit1cizing him for the politicians he supported. He said he already stopped reprimanding Trillanes since he loses his position in the government as a senator because he wanted to give respect to the latter's family.
Robin said,
“Hindi kita inaano o binabangga magmula ng hindi kana senador bilang respeto sa iyong pamilya kayat umayos ka rin.”
