The impact of the pand3mic on our lives today is enormous. Aside from being extra careful not to get infected with C0VID-19, the livelihood of most Filipinos has also been severely affected.
Just like this father and son who are now living in a small wagon after the father lost his job as a construction worker. To make matters worse, they only rely on the aid given by the government or other people because they do not even have food.
The father who was identified as Rodel Mojica, 46, was among those people who lost their job as construction workers. He is even having a hard time because he is the only raising and supporting the needs of his 4-year-old son, Ruben.
Now the father and son live in a 1x2 meter wagon built by Rodel made of woven plywood. This serves as their house and is parked along the Pasig River near Guadalupe in Makati City.
Their house is very small and not spacious enough for the two of them but the father and son just endure it. It can be seen that their carriage also has wheels so that they can easily find a place where it can be parked so that they can rest.
Rodel also installed small windows so that even if they were sleeping inside, there was still fresh air coming in. Even though their house is small, it somehow serves as a home for the two of them.
Many felt sorry for the plight of the father and son and many netizens are asking for help for them. Meanwhile, Rodel is still admired by many for being resourceful and strategic because he found a way for them to have a shelter, even it is only a small house.
If you think about it, they are much safer to leave in the wagon rather than sleeping on the side of the road. But, it is still better to help them so that they can have a better place to live in and the father and son can recover and return their livelihood.
